Forest107 / Preventing and Combating Forest Fires

As a result of natural or human induced fires, forests are partially or completely burned, and with the effect of global warming, fires increasingly destroy and threaten the ecosystem and people.

Forest fires are one of the inevitable natural phenomena of the Mediterranean Basin and they occur in different numbers and intensity every year. Especially in the summer months when the temperature is high and the air humidity drops below 30%, the risk of fire reaches the highest level. Found where Mediterranean climate prevails with hot and dry summers, 60% of Turkey’s forests are at risk of fire.
