Forest105 / Dispersion of Forests According to the Flora Areas of Turkey
Turkey has a total of 12.000 plant species in its forests, almost equivalent to the plant diversity in Europe. About 3700 of these species (30%) are endemic and only grow in Turkey.
Turkish pine, which is the main tree species of the Aegean and Mediterranean regions, covers the largest area in the forests with its dispersion area reaching 5 million hectares in Turkey.
