Climate102 / Greenhouse Gases in Atmosphere and Their Effects

Prepared by: Seçil Uysal

Presenter: Demet Yapıcıoğlu Gürcan

Greenhouse gases (GHGs) absorb energy from the sun, slowing its rate of escape into space, thereby acting like a blanket to warm the Earth.

The greenhouse gases, which are mainly composed of Carbon Dioxide (CO₂), Methane (CH₄), Diazot Monoxide (N₂O), Fluorinated Gases and Nitrous Oxide (N¹O), vary in their ability to absorb radiation and their residence time in the atmosphere.
